Ring

This is Episode One of my “Ring” series, where I dive into the weird, funny, and kind of unsettling world of self-surveillance. I’m using actual candid footage from my Ring cameras to piece together short episodes of my life. Episode One introduces different “characters” (a.k.a. the people currently in my life), and captures everything from the hilariously mundane to the surprisingly intimate.

Thanos

This project is a reading of my creative nonfiction piece “Thanos." It tells the story of my first kiss with someone who means a whole lot to me—but really, the true star of the story is their car, Thanos. We basically lived in Thanos. She became the perfect symbol for our relationship— cozy, chaotic, and full of memories. Alongside the reading, I included a mix of film and digital photos: shots of the car (inside and out), plus some personal snapshots from the summer we spent together.

Dear Dad,

In this piece, I’m blending real video footage from my baptism party with a letter I recently wrote to my dad—part of an ongoing collection of unsent letters. On the surface, it’s all  family smiles, but underneath, it’s about much more: betrayal, heartbreak, and the complicated layers of fatherhood. The goal isn’t to villainize or glorify, but to hold both joy and disappointment in the same frame—to show my dad in a gentle light while also being honest about the things that hurt.

Crying of Laughter

This project is an exploration of two things I do a lot: crying and laughing. Laughing is one of my absolute favorite things—crying, not so much. But ironically, I do both all the time. I was curious about how these two emotional extremes can exist so closely together, sometimes even in the same moment. So I decided to dig into that overlap through personal reflection.
